Upcoming Horror Games in 2023
2023 is a great year for horror games. This year got kicked off with phenomenal titles such as the Dead Space remake. The Dead Space remake released in January and was met with great success. There’s a ton more anticipated upcoming horror games in 2023 though.
New Horror Games Coming Out in 2023
Resident Evil 4 Remake:
Resident Evil has been killing it with remaking their games successfully. The 2nd and 3rd have already been remade and to continue in their remake endeavors they’ll be releasing the Resident Evil 4 remake on March 24th. A great way to get ready for this remake is playing the original for sure.
Amnesia The Bunker:
If you’re a fan of any of the Amnesia games then you'll be happy to hear 2023 has one in store. This game is set to occur in a desolate WWI bunker. It’s anticipated release is listed as May 15th on Steam.
Alan Wake 2:
This sequel to the Alan Wake game doesn’t have a set release date yet but is expected to come out in 2023. A great way to prepare for this sequel is definitely playing the first one.
Killer Klowns from Outer Space:
This game is inspired by the Killer Klowns from Outer Space movie from 1988. It’s a fun horror film with incredible special effects for it’s time and now we’re getting a game based off it in 2023. This game will join in the asymmetrical horror genre and hopefully make you scared and laugh.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Heart of Chornobyl:
Another horror sequel for 2023, with the first one having released in 2007 and is definitely worth playing before the sequel comes out in December.
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre:
Another asymmetrical horror game that’s based off a classic horror movie, this game is already seeing an immense level of hype for the launch in 2023. This game is based off a movie franchise with a lot of history and films. That means there’s lots of source material to watch while you wait for the game to launch.
Silent Hill: Ascension:
Silent Hill fans can rejoice with new games coming. We have the very long awaited release of the Silent Hill 2 remake and in 2023 a new game!
System Shock Remake:
Horror game remakes have proven successful so it’s not a shock that System Shock is also finally getting remade. This game was originally released in 1994 and will definitely benefit from a remake to enjoy the game with the graphics we all know today
Layers of Fear:
While it isn’t quite a sequel or a remake this game is definitely going to be an exciting edition to the first Layers of Fear game and the second. This game will be sticking to psychological horror but with all new story elements to it.
